Dr. Rodrigo Lema, M.D. has been practicing in the fields of internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care and sleep disorders for over 30 years. He graduated from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in 1990 and proceeded to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Veteran Hospital in Miami in 1997. He continued his educational endeavors through 2001 successfully completing his residency and fellowships in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Disorders medicine in 2000 and 2001.
Dr. Lema, M.D. comes from a family of physicians who practice in different specialties including dental, psychiatry, hematology and oncology, surgery, anesthesiology, pediatric medicine, gynecology and obstetric medicine, and laboratory medicine. As Co-Founder of Valley Intensivists, Pulmonologists and Sleep Specialists, Dr. Lema has dedicated his days to providing specialized care for all patients. His philosophy is treat and provide exceptional care to every patient as he would his own family members. He is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the Rio Grande Valley including Rio Grande Regional Hospital, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, Mission Regional Medical Center, McAllen Medical Center and Solara.
When Dr. Lema isn’t treating patients, he enjoys swimming, playing tennis, traveling with his family and visiting museums around the world. He also demonstrates his artistic talent through his paintings.
